The Red Tucano Longfin Angelfish is a captivating variety of angelfish that stands out due to its striking appearance. 

  • Appearance:

    • The Red Tucano Longfin Angelfish boasts elongated dorsal and anal fins, resembling a five-pointed star. These graceful fins contribute to their unique and eye-catching silhouette.
    • Their coloration is truly mesmerizing. While the base color is typically silver, they exhibit vibrant red patches, creating a stunning contrast.
    • These angelfish can grow up to 6" on length from nose to tail, making them a substantial centerpiece for your aquarium. 
  • Behavior:

    • When young (around 3-4 months old), Red Tucano Longfin Angelfish are relatively peaceful community fish.
    • As they mature, they become more territorial, especially during breeding. They actively pair up and fiercely defend their chosen area within the aquarium.
    • Remember the golden rule: If it fits in their mouth, it might end up as a snack!
    • Interestingly angelfish can tell time, eagerly awaiting feeding time like clockwork. 

  • Tank Requirements:

    • Tank Size: Provide a tank of at least 20 gallons, with an additional 10 gallons per extra fish due to their tall bodies.
    • Water Conditions: They thrive in warm, slightly acidic water. Aim for a temperature range of 76°F to 86°F and a pH of 6.5-7.5.
    • Aquarium set-up mi mimic their natural habitat with fine substrate, plenty of plants and ample sunlight.
