They prefer neutral temperatures and slightly acidic pH levels of 5.5-7.0, and are a peaceful species that thrives in aquariums stocked heavily with other similar species. The Black Neon Tetra gets its name from its signature black line that runs the length of its body and gives it an eye-catching iridescent glow when it catches light in the right way. This species lives harmoniously with other small, peaceful tetras, as well as Corydoras catfish, Otocinclus Catfish, and Cherry Barbs.
